FREE WORKSHOP Week 1: Lack of Accountability

Thought we would start the 10 Week Workshop, with looking into the Lack of Accountability and the causes and issues that this creates onto the rest of the project.

This seems to be one, that tends to fall below the radar in silence with no one noticing it, until its too late. Since, at first glance, blaming others doesn’t seem to be relevant to construction or the success of projects.

But think again , since the issue is that once you push the responsibility onto someone else, whether its the Project Manager, Client, Contractors or the like, you are giving your ability to control the situation, to someone else.

And this is by far the worse thing you can do on a subconscious level, especially if your trying to turn the project around to success. Since, once you start you begin to come up with all sorts of excuses, for your failures or inaction on the project, which will prevent you from applying the techniques necessary for your success.

And I’m sure you must be thinking why is this such a problem, but when your focus is on blaming someone else, your not focused on the task at hand.  Just remember, this would apply to all sorts of situations, not just your profession, but also your personal and family life.

And im sure you know I’m right…

So next time an issue comes up and your quick to respond, stop for a moment and think, asking yourself whether you “Are willing to give your control and any chance of turning the situation around to someone else, preventing you becoming a Productive Foremen“.

And then acknowledge to yourself that the current situations and issues are a result of you, whether it be action/inaction from you. Once your able to accept it, you then are able to detach from your emotions which are preventing you from moving forward. This will enable you to focus specifically on solutions and actions that are necessary in bringing the results you want.

Without it, this would prevent you from moving forward and learning from the following weeks during this free workshop, in helping you become a Productive Foremen.
