Top 10 Issues That Lead to Projects Falling Behind ™ – Week 3…

Welcome back,

How did everyone go last week in Week 3, with Lack of Accountability™ from our Top 10 Issues That Lead to Projects Falling Behind ™

This week, we’ll start looking into Poor Communication and the effects of this onto the project.

Today, lets talk about Poor Communication and the effects of this on projects, around the world.

Previously, communication between foremen and the subcontractor would traditionally been through dictatorship, whereby the foremen would initiate commands of what had to be done. Without any concern to the subcontractors, what so ever… and whilst this was ok and perhaps the norm, back 10-20 years ago, things have change, significantly.

And rightfully so, since Poor Communication benefited the foremen in the immediate/short term and became detrimental for the subcontractors, especially over the long term. A Win/Lose situation, which couldn’t be sustained and brought multiple issues including agitated reaction/difficulties, increases in quotes/variations, delays to programmes, poor/stagnant participation from subcontractors and an overall negative vibe throughout the project, just to name a few.

And as you can imagine, this resulted with even the basic tasks and scheduling becoming difficult and dragging out, way longer that it should off.

Especially, when you realise that subcontractors and suppliers, take up a large portion of your workforce.

Whereas on the opposite end, if there is Great Communication amongst all your subcontractors, i’ve seen the opposite occur with great results in an almost, effortless way.

Which literally turned a “Can’t Do”  to a “Can Do” attitude.

And just remember, the way you communicate to others, will determine the results you get back.

So next time an issue comes up and your quick to respond, stop for a moment and ask yourself, whether your Poor Communication is potentially causing difficulty in your project.

And so, in becoming a Productive Foremen, focus on maintaining a positive, Can Do Attitude at all times, in ensuring your success.

Including just how important Great Communication is to the success of projects and a core ingredient to becoming a Productive Foremen.

Till next week, ENJOY 🙂

  • Hey there 🙂

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what
theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any
feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of
    yourself during the coronavirus scare!

  • Hiya! I know this is kinda off topic however , I’d figured I’d ask. Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a blog post or vice-versa? My website goes over a lot of the same subjects as yours and I think we could greatly benefit from each other. If you’re interested feel free to shoot me an email. I look forward to hearing from you! Superb blog by the way!
