Partnerships, thought i’d turn it on its heads…

TODAY, I wanted to dive in a little deeper, with last weeks discussions on: What’s all the FUSS about Partnership and the advantages for your Projects.

So this week , instead of talking about the advantages, i thought we would look into what would be the disadvantages and issues that would occur and hold us back.

So, let look at when all that information and knowledge from your contractors or suppliers are NOT being used and shared, during the lifetime of the project, such as:

  • your lack or limitation of knowledge base in respects to specific professions, material/products
  • continuous delays in supply and/or installations of products/works
  • problematic issues that seem to grow and never end
  • loss off control across contractors and suppliers
  • project and programme, blow outs
  • and so on…

Now, what happens when we are teaming up with our contractors and suppliers, in helping our clients with a higher level of project.

  • cheaper and quicker alternative solutions to any current shortage or design issue
  • expertise knowledge of products and/or installation, that could be beneficial to the client
  • open communication, improves response times, issue avoidances and more efficient running of project
  • morale and teamwork are immediately improved, with efficient and effective progress in the project, resulting in completion of projects within time, budget and defect-free.
  • unified front between yourself as foremen and contractors/suppliers to your client and stakeholders.

And remember, these are just a few examples where by not teaming up/partnering with your contractors/suppliers through the project, has resulted in a negative effect on the project and more importantly your relationship towards client and stakeholders.

Till next week.
